Greetings, islanders & adventurers!
As many of you know, there are two platforms to play Island Experiment - Facebook and the mobile app. Starting today, certain changes are introduced - and these changes affect both versions of the game. Specifically — the Facebook app and the mobile app will be split into two separate playgrounds and the game progress will be saved and stored separately from each other.
What does it mean?
It means that you'll have the same island on both Facebook and on a mobile device but their development will proceed separately, without affecting each other.
Hold on, so I'll basically have two different islands?
That's right! Any action made on one of the islands stays only on the island where you made it. For example, if you collect Food on your Facebook island - this progress will stay on Facebook only.
And I can play on both islands at the same time?
Yes, indeed you can :)
What about purchases?
They remain as they are till the separation. New purchases, however, will belong to the platform where they were made and will be available only there.
Ok, what about my Friends & Neighbors?
They’ll stay the same :)
So what happens in the end?
— There'll be an opportunity to develop two islands at the same time separately - one on a mobile device and the other on your Facebook account;
— The Newsfeed will provide only the news that corresponds to your platform (either mobile or Facebook one);
— The option to save the game progress linking a Facebook account to a game profile remains;
— Downloading the game progress from a Facebook account will be available as well!
— Hippo quest and Facebook connection quest stay - you'll be able to complete them and gain the rewards.
— Islanders that were actively playing on both platforms will receive a gift :)
Should you have any questions regarding this separation - please contact Player Experience Team. Have a great time and good luck!
